What is Shelfcook?
A pantry-first recipe app. You log what is in your kitchen by photo, barcode, or typing, and Shelfcook suggests dishes from 30 cuisines that you can cook right now, scaled to your household, with a grocery list for whatever is missing.
Does Shelfcook keep photos of my kitchen?
No. Photos are resized and stripped of location data on your phone, sent once to build your pantry, processed, and not stored on our servers.
What does it cost?
One plan, called member: $7.99 a month or $39.99 a year, both with a 7-day free trial. Yearly works out to $3.33 a month. Prices are in US dollars; the App Store and Google Play show local pricing.
Is there a free version?
You get one free scan preview: scan once and see the dish names. Opening the recipes needs the trial or a subscription. After a subscription ends, your pantry, saved recipes, and grocery list stay readable.
Are there limits?
Members can run 40 photo scans and 200 recipe generations a month. Adding to the pantry by hand, saving recipes, and the grocery list are unlimited.
How do I cancel?
Subscriptions are billed by the App Store or Google Play. Cancel any time in your device's subscription settings; you keep access until the end of the paid period. A trial converts to a paid plan unless cancelled at least 24 hours before it ends.
Can my household share a pantry?
Household profiles with per-person allergens and diets are in the first release, so portions and filters fit everyone at the table. Sharing one pantry and one list across members' phones arrives in a later release.
How accurate are allergen and nutrition figures?
Allergen flags are best effort and say so on every recipe. Calories and macros are estimates. Always check labels yourself, and never treat Shelfcook as medical advice.
Which cuisines are included?
Thirty regions at launch, from Mexican and West African to Sichuan, Filipino, and Levantine. Each has a curated set of reference dishes that ground the recipes Shelfcook generates for your pantry.
Which platforms?
iOS and Android. The website holds your account settings, data export, and account deletion; the pantry itself lives in the app.
How do I delete my account?
From Settings in the app, or from your account on this site. The request is processed within 30 days and confirmed by email. You can export your data as JSON first.
How old do I have to be?
You must be at least 13 to create an account, and at least 16 in the European Economic Area and the United Kingdom.
